5 Christ-Centered Easter Activities

Christ-centered Easter Printables

–coloring and activity pages from Holy Spirit-Led Homeschooling (among my favorites)

–DLTK’s customizable Bingo cards (a big hit with my kids last year)

–Easter Blessings Preschool Pack from Mama’s Monkeys

–Resurrection Eggs Printables on Family Your Way

–Easter Memory Match from Christian Preschool Printables

Resurrection Rolls

Take a large marshmallow (to represent Jesus) and dip it in melted butter or margarine (to represent the oils that were used to anoint bodies) and roll it in a combination of sugar and cinnamon (to represent the spices that were used in preparing bodies for burial).

Wrap the sugared marshmallow in a refrigerated crescent roll triangle (which represents the tomb) and seal tightly.

Bake in a 400 degree oven for about 13 minutes or until “Jesus” is risen. Your kids can then enjoy seeing and eating the empty “tomb”!

Salvation Bookmarks
These are so easy to make using a pipe cleaner and beads.
Black – the darkness of our sin and how it separates us from God
Red – the blood of Jesus which paid for our sins
White – we are washed clean
Blue – for water baptism
Clear – the Holy Spirit and for faith for though we cannot see them, we know they are there. (the beads happened to be shaped like a butterfly, which tied into the next bead)
Green – for new life in Christ
Gold – to represent our eternal life in Heaven
Cheesecake with Cross
This is so easy to make. Simply make your favorite cheesecake recipe and then top it with cherries in the shape of a cross. You can use this to talk about the sacrifice that was made for us and the depth of God’s love.
Reinforce the Easter Story
Read the Easter story in the Bible and through some books that are appropriate for the ages your kids are at. You may also want to watch a movie of the story of Jesus (there are several children’s movies available). Reinforce this teaching by all working together to write a poem or create a song telling the story of Jesus’ life, death and resurrection. Another way to reinforce the story is to act parts of it out or by having your children draw it out in comic form.
How does your family prepare for Easter to ensure that the focus stays on Christ?

I just wanted to let you know about an idea for Easter. I saw a need to come up with something to make Easter egg hunts more about Jesus. I created glow in the dark Easter eggs hunts with Egglo Eggs that glow without light sticks.. The idea is that Jesus is the light of the world. Children search in the dark for glowing eggs that represent the light of Jesus. I also have a really amazing book, curriculum and other resources for a complete program. I just thought I would share this resource.

    In Him,
