This journey of life with my silly girls is turning into a journey of life with young ladies searching for self- worth and acceptance. A journey of searching for Truth. Can you relate? What do I say to these young heirs to the throne?
Before I can speak my actions, I should be showing them as well. With these actions I need grace yes, grace is abundant in my house. Forgiveness , yes, forgiveness is abundant in my house. For I can honestly do nothing without Him.
Let us not love in word or talk , but in deed and truth. ( I John)
The Father’s hand is upon us to teach our children Truth. To teach them in the trials and temptations. To teach them what faith looks like. I never knew children show all your weaknesses and strengths in an instant. How fragile children and parenting can be…
Abide, abide, abide echoes in my head. What does that look like? Where do I find women who were pillars of the faith? How do I show my daughters how beautiful God has made them? How do I show them these things of life and what it looks like? How do I show them that through giving cups of water in the middle of the night and arithmetic that He has a plan for them.
I read and read to them. I tell them stories of the real women. The women like Gladys Aylward who walked over a month with over 100 orphans to find safety in a war torn country, Maria Taylor who trained single women to be missionaries in China, Mary Sellsor whose strong personality allowed her to be trusted spreading The Gospel and promoting women’s rights. Women who persevered in the dailies of life. Women who were real who liked being silly, like Ida Sophia Scudder who saved lives. Women who Jesus spoke to that no one else would dare speak to. I read to them stories where little girls have to make a decision and then discover the real life outcomes of those decisions. I read to them stories that life does not smell sweet all the time. I read to them that things don’t always work out quite as expected. I read to them about God’s Faithfulness and His Forgiveness. I read to them what purity looks like. What “Girlhood ” looks like.
I pray and I pray with them. I pray that they will know the Truth, and hide it in their hearts. I pray that they will guard their hearts, that they will abide, that they will love God. That they will abide in Faith to God and always know that His promises are true. This has been our humble search for His Grace, His Truth and His Love. This is how, thru Gods Grace, I attempt to guide His Heirs to His Throne.
