“Gardening offers a priceless opportunity to work together on a fun family project, and share thoughts and ideas as you build your own special place of beauty and memories.” ~ Amanda Bennett

We are encouraging our community to garden by joining The HSV Garden Challenge! Even if you have one tomato plant on your back porch, herbs in your window sill, or acres for potatoes … share your plan, planting, cultivating, and harvest photos with us throughout  the months of March, April, May & June — and you will be entered to win a $20 visa card to use at your local grocery store!

To participate:

  1. Join us and link up once per month March 31st, April 28st, May 26th, and June 30th – sharing a post of your latest garden update .  Include: 1 current photo, progress, lessons/resources being used, and homeschooler’s reaction / involvement!
  2. Grab the button (below) and put it on your site during the challenge (thanks Jolanthe Relevant Designs)

Winners: will be announced July 7th! 3 random winners (who have participated all 4 months) will be chosen ! NOTE – size of harvest, success, etc. will not determine winners – it is the effort and life lessons that your children will be learning that matters to us!

First 10 participants to link up March 31st will receive a $15.00 CurrClick Gift Certificate.

  1. I’m looking forward to this! I have a great idea for a garden (even though it’ll be in our flower bed in my front yard!)

I even have a copy of Amanda Bennett’s Garden Unit study that I’m sure I’ll be using!

    Thanks for this challenge!

  2. Sounds fun!! We’ll be joining in!

  3. How cool! We plant a garden every year and we have already planted some of our seeds this year. The kids love it!

  4. Can we still participate even if we don’t have a blog/website? We are starting our first HUGE garden this year. I can’t wait for all of the homeschool lessons that will arise with it! 🙂

  5. Even though I’ve been blogging quite a while, I’m new to “linking up.” How can i find more information on how to do this?

  6. Sorry, gave my old blog address…used the newer one for this comment!

  7. Yay, I am so looking forward to this! I planted basil, mint, and a few others already!

  8. Count me in! I’m looking forward to it. We already have seeds started, but don’t hit “frost-free” until April 15.

  9. Sounds like a great motivator for me to get a garden going in our new home! (We had one at our old house and L.O.V.E.D it!) Hopefully I will be able to get something planted and link up! 🙂

  10. Great idea! We will be participating. We are having issues with the html of the button though. We’ll try it again later. 🙂

  11. We are going to join in too, we are just getting are garden ready to start planting.

  12. March 31st is the 1st picture… My garden still has a foot of snow on it 🙁

    • link up a picture of the space, and what you plan on planting, resources you’ll be using!! Everyone’s “plant date” will be different!! There is no same start point – you’re golden!

  13. I was just thinking about planting some seeds with my 5yo. This will be great. Thank you!
