We have been enjoying our outside fun time because we know summer is quickly coming to Florida. If you’ve spent one day during the summer in Florida you know being outside in that heat is ridiculously uncomfortable. This is our #1 reason for homeschooling year round.
Before our skin melts off our bones it’s time to unplug and enjoy Outside Fun!
My friend and homeschool mega star Holy Spirit-Led Homeschooling showed off some rock painting photos recently on Instagram and I had to try it out for the boys since they have a ton of rocks in their ever-growing “rock collection”.
We have been breaking up our days with a quick trip to the playground. I usually do not spend more than an hour. I pack snacks. Once the boys are ready for a drink / break we see what we can find. This is a great time to pull out zip lock bags for special things to take home or flip through a field guide to find that insect, wild flower, or bird we just spotted.
Even if it means adjusting your schedule (or your control of the schedule), get outside and enjoy yourselves!
