We did a month of school in June and decided to wait until September to “officially” start up again. I see the blog posts, Instagram pics, and Facebook updates of other moms who are ready to go or they’ve already started their new year. It seems like they have organized their curriculum, planned their lessons and started their school year already.
Me? I haven’t really had the time to get ready, so I keep putting off starting school. My business has picked up significantly over the last month and I’ve barely had time to breathe!
I have this idea that I have to have my act together before I start schooling, that I have to have everything ready, organized, and have my lessons all planned out before I jump in.
That’s just crazy!!
I’ll never FEEL ready enough! It’s time to just jump in.
So I thought I would challenge you, newbie homeschool moms:
Just Jump In!! I’m going to! Let’s do this together!
What are you waiting for?
For the homeschool room to be pinterest ready?
To have planned out your entire first year?
Are you waiting for life to slow down?
It might not look perfect in the beginning. You know something? I’m pretty sure it never will be perfect. We will always be tweaking the way we do our homeschool.
There is plenty of time to make adjustments later, but for today? Let’s just start!

I am never as ready as I think I need to be when I start the year but it always comes together.

This is so true!! We just began our 15th year of home schooling, and I don’t think I’ve ever felt completely ready. I always find myself wishing for one more week so I can “feel” ready! Then I spend the first two weeks of school wondering why I didn’t do more before we started. Great advice to just jump in!
