Love When We Rise Up

by HSVillage 5 Comments

When we rise up.  When we lie down. For so many these words are a call to action. We strive to close the gap daily… that crevice which swells deep between us and the perfect, sales loving model of our Abba God.  It is a grand calling, viagra buy this great commission of home… immense as the vastness of our God.  Yet how simple.  And so it is with the words of a Savior who washed the feet of fishermen.

“And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.  You shall teach them diligently to your children, vialis 40mg and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.” Deuteronomy 6:6-7

What wordless word does my heart whisper to the gift of family come morning light?  Who am I to these grace offerings I am blessed to know as my own?  What meager pours from my lips to these treasured hearts as day slips closed, never to come again?  What if tomorrow neither dawns?

When we rise up.  When we lie down.  Simple as an undistinguished stable in a sleepy middle eastern village, yet how breathlessly exhuisite the Masterpiece  shaped by unconditional love.  If my family can drink of the grace that is such a love when day wakes and day closes soft, how strong the bond that weaves a home!  Not a lofty goal ever out of reach… but the here… the now… the simplicity of purest love.  A gentle stroke of the forehead, an assuring embrace,  an ear to dreams, a favorite story, tender words of encouragement, apology, forgiveness, acceptance, understanding.  Those first and last encounters between loved ones in knowing arms of home… do they look like, feel like, Christ?  Do we close the door hard against the haste, the distraction, of a world that would seek to weaken even as we yet build? A miracle of grace that He not only wants such love among us, but will handcraft it of His own majesty, if we but melt ready in His palm of unfailing Abba love.

Oh, that we might look a bit more like Him when first rays of light stream warm upon our homes each day… learning together to love as we rise up.

~Abundant blessings to our own inspiration, Stef Layton, as we all celebrate her birthday today and the gift that she is to so many.  Much love, Stef!~

My online accountability partner and I were just praying that we would have a heart for our children this morning, not for our computers, housework, or other distractions. Thank you for these words today!
