Homeschooling with Netflix

by HSVillage 8 Comments

This series is sponsored by my absolute favorite homeschool organizing tool…Scholaric Planner. Scholaric makes my planning life a breeze!

There are so many great options for including technology in your homeschool these days.  I have to saw that the most popular thing in my home these days is Netflix! I originally signed up for Netflix as a substitute for the cable that we don’t watch.  As I started looking for things to add to our instant queue I found many videos that went along with our homeschool lessons.

I’m going to share some finds on Netflix for science, history and preschoolers. Please be sure to screen videos before you let your children watch them to be sure that they meet your family’s standards.

We’re planning on watching lots of Magic School Bus this year with our anatomy studies, they’ve got some great human body episodes.

Some great resources… we love Netflix! Will have to search for some of those. Just a warning… I believe the Romeo and Juliet you are referring to has some Juliet breast in it. And also, my son loves to watch MythBusters, but I have to monitor them because there have been a few with questionable content… he’s 8 though so it’s probably fine for older kids.

Came across your site while searching for homeschool options on Netflix. I too am a single mom homeschooling. I have three children, 13, 15 and 18. I’ve homeschooled them the whole way through! I blog about the lessons God teaches me through it all, to encourage single moms.
Thanks for the useful post! And kudos to you for homeschooling your sweet boys.
    Blessings,
    Lisa
